Hardy & Greys Team England Win On The Tees

Managed by Mike Tinnion and captained By Howard Croston, Team England's line up of Simon Robinson, John Tyzack, Phil Dixon, Ian Greenwood and reserve Bernie Maher managed an almost clean sweep of the medals.

Team England members placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th individually with Simon Robinson lifting the trophy as top individual and narrowly missing out on the largest fish award as well.

A sudden change in weather conditions saw localised rain on the fells suddenly put the river into a small summer flood from the low clear conditions the teams had practised on.

England adapted well, changing tactics rapidly as the levels rose and then stabilised and started to fall back rapidly - all in an 8 hour period.

Winning tactics included a diverse mix of dries, nymphs and even small streamers fished in the River Tees abundant pocket water.
