Qualifications:

The Salmon and Trout Association's National Instructor's Certificate (STANIC) is the nationally recognised qualification for teaching fly-fishing. In addition to that qualification, I have over 40 years angling experience. I also taught adults and young people for almost 30 years, developing a great deal of insight into communicating skills and ideas.

I established the Beckfisher business in April 2000 and now work as a full-time, professional fly-fishing instructor and guide. From my home in an area of outstanding natural beauty, I can offer instruction on:

• Larger lakes for brown and rainbow trout
• Reservoirs for rainbow trout
• Small streams and rivers for brown trout and grayling
• Yorkshire Dales rivers for brown trout and grayling
• Over a mile of chalk stream fishing on Driffield Beck.
